Honouring the Buffalo stampeding at Standing Rock and the perfection of the repeating patterns of this universe

hazel made this stencil in honour of the buffalo which took out the big fence installed by the military when they stampeded at Standing Rock. The fence had been put around the area to keep the Earth Protectors out, and it felt as though the buffalo had something to say about that.

The diamond pattern represents the sacred geometry which spirals through all forms on the earth. Known as the Fibonacci sequence, the expression of it is viewed as the Golden Mean - perfection - and is found in many relationships on earth, such as the dimensions of a leaf to its tree.

hazel’s rickety buffalo, despite not having quite the correct proportions, also honours that natural perfection.

Birth: December 2016, In Honour of Buffalo at Standing Rock

Those are the full blown PrayerStream workshops where the participants make a stencil and then silkscreen and end up with a strand of flags. But hazel will also just show up at events like reconciliation in action with stencils, like Reconciliation Bear or Buffalo of Solidarity or 13 Moons Turtle calendar or Grandmother Spider weaving the story of universe or a series of courage hearts... show up with a stencil and just silkscreen.
